Creative Competition
"Publishing Journalism"

 


The International Student Professional Creative Competition "Publishing Journalism" is held on the basis of Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi Kremenchuk National University within the framework of the development of the Innovation Hub for higher education graduates and young scientists.

The founders of the competition: the Department of linguistic didactics and journalism of Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi National University with relevant departments of Matej Bel University (Slovakia), Institute of Technology and Business (Czech Republic), Higher School of European and Regional Studies (Czech Republic), University of Leicester (Great Britain), Alytus University of Applied Sciences (Alytaus kolegija, Lithuania), Lublin Polytechnic (Poland), Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland). Representatives of mas-mtdia, literary public associations and socio-cultural institutions are involved in the organizing committee of the Competition.

The tasks of the Competition are:
• expansion of international relations,
• stimulation of students' innovative activities,
• their mastery of modern technologies, in particular, promotion of books and reading by means of social communications,
• creation of conditions for the formation of the intellectual potential of talented youth, etc.

The competition is held in two rounds: Round I – in April, Round II – in May-June of each year.

The 1st round of the Competition is held at educational institution with the aim of selecting the best creative works for participation in the 2nd round of the Competition, which are sent to Mykhailo Ostrohradskyi Kremenchuk National University in electronic form by May 10 of the current year.

The evaluation of student scientific works submitted to the II round of the Competition is carried out by the jury of the Competition through review. The criteria for evaluating the quality of works are developed by the jury on a scale of 100.

On the basis of review and open discussion of creative works, the Jury of the Competition makes a decision by majority vote to determine the best works of the II round of the Competition.

The competition is held in three nominations:
• Booktrailer (a video lasting 2–5 minutes, which tells about the book in an arbitrary artistic form and visualizes its content for the purpose of popularization or promotion);
• Bookstagram (a photo of the book and an annotation for the purpose of advertising and popularizing reading on the Instagram social network; a composition related to the content of the book is usually created for the photo);
• Video review (a video lasting 2–5 minutes, the author of which shows the book and characterizes it).

Requirements: creative works prepared independently by students (no more than two authors) are submitted to the Competition. The duration of videos should not exceed 5 minutes. Creative works are submitted in national or English languages.
